Morning departure to the southeast of Sucre, to the indigenous village of Candelaria, passing by Tarabuco. On Sunday attendance to the indigenous market of Tarabuco, otherwise only a short stopover.
The indigenous market of Tarabuco is one of the purest and most colorful in the world. Indigenous people, dressed on their traditional garments attend this town every Sunday to buy, sell and still barter their local products and handicrafts.
Arrival to Candelaria and visit the indigenous homes where we see the way men and women artisans live and work. A good opportunity to purchase your fine souvenirs directly from the weavers and get your photo with them.
Visit to the Colonial Hacienda of Candelaria (storage rooms, chapel, agricultural museum etc.).
Typical lunch at the Hacienda.
Work with one of our local weavers and learn how to spin wool in a local drop spindle or, if preferred, short walk to the Inca Bridge.
Return to Sucre in the evening.
Become a local and learn about the ways of life of the Bolivian countryside by interacting with the local community.
Day 1

Arrival to Candelaria and visit the indigenous homes where we see the way men and women artisans live and work. Visit to the local community Museum where they display and sell their textiles.
Typical lunch at the Hacienda.
Visit to the Colonial Hacienda of Candelaria (storage rooms, Chapel, agricultural museum etc.).
If desired short walk to the Inca Bridge.
Dinner with a talk by the owners on the history of the Hacienda while enjoying the typical warm cinnamon and singani.
Overnight at very simple accommodations at the Hacienda Candelaria.
Day 2
Breakfast.
Hands on morning: participate in one of our everyday life activities to choose from:
• Cooking Bolivian food.
• Dying sheep's threads.
• Weaving on a traditional loom with a local teacher.
• Baking bread in an indigenous oven.
• Quechua or Spanish basic lessons.
• Hiking to a nearby Indigenous community.
Enjoy a typical lunch and after some free time to enjoy the pure countryside air, return to Sucre.
Live like a local, work for the community!

Participation in one of our everyday life activities to choose from:
• Cooking Bolivian food.
• Dying sheep's threads.
• Weaving on a traditional loom with a local teacher.
• Baking bread in an indigenous oven.
• Quechua or Spanish basic lessons.
• Hiking to a nearby Indigenous community.
Dinner and overnight at basic accommodation in shared rooms at the Hacienda.
Day 2
A day of Mink’a (work with everyone for everyone) and cultural exchange
After breakfast, walk or drive to the place where locals are working on a project that will help their entire community. Upon arrival, introduction to the local workers and full day community work with the local people share lunch at the place of work with the community.
After a day of work, the return to Hacienda Candelaria.
Dinner and talk on the history of Candelaria while enjoying the typical hot cinnamon with singani.
Note: This day involves hard work, so it is suggested that people have clothes that can get dirty or damaged and gloves.
Day 3
Breakfast and transfer to Tarabuco. On Sunday, attendance to the local indigenous market of Tarabuco, one of the purest and most colorful in the world.
Indigenous people, dressed on their traditional garments attend this town every Sunday to buy, sell and still barter their local products and handicrafts.
Lunch and afternoon return to Sucre.
* On weekdays participate on another of our everyday life activities, including the possibility of a football match against the local school team (groups only).
